Insurance Requirements

Local Landscaping Partners, LLC (“LLP”) activates providers only after the required insurance documents have been reviewed.

This page summarizes the general minimum requirements.

Minimum Coverage to Join

Commercial General Liability (CGL)

  • $1,000,000 per occurrence
  • $2,000,000 general aggregate
  • $2,000,000 products and completed operations aggregate

Coverage must include contractual liability, bodily injury, property damage, products and completed operations, and the services your business is approved to perform.

Automobile Liability

  • $1,000,000 combined single limit per accident
  • Owned, scheduled, hired, and non-owned vehicles, as applicable
  • Every vehicle used for LLP work must be insured for its actual business use

Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability

Workers’ compensation must be maintained as required by applicable law and the Provider Agreement.

Minimum employers’ liability limits:

  • $1,000,000 each accident
  • $1,000,000 disease—each employee
  • $1,000,000 disease—policy limit

If you use employees, crew members, helpers, temporary workers, or other personnel, LLP may require workers’ compensation coverage even if your business falls below your state’s usual employee-count threshold. An approved owner who works entirely alone may request an owner-operator exception, and occupational accident coverage may be accepted as supplemental protection where permitted, but it does not replace legally required workers’ compensation. Current proof of all required coverage must be provided before accepting live Orders and kept continuously active.

You must upload current proof of coverage before accepting jobs and keep it continuously active.

Insurance Details

To receive Customer Orders through LLP, providers must maintain active business insurance appropriate for their services, personnel, vehicles, and approved subcontractors.

LLP reviews insurance documents to evaluate whether the provider satisfies the Provider Insurance Standards. This review does not guarantee that a policy will cover every possible claim.

1. Commercial General Liability Insurance

Commercial General Liability insurance helps protect your business when your operations cause bodily injury or property damage.

Minimum limits:

  • $1,000,000 each occurrence
  • $2,000,000 general aggregate
  • $2,000,000 products and completed operations aggregate

The policy must be written on an occurrence basis unless LLP approves another form in writing.

Coverage must apply to:

  • Your approved services
  • Your employees and crew
  • Liability arising from approved subcontracted operations
  • Bodily injury
  • Property damage
  • Personal and advertising injury
  • Contractual liability
  • Products and completed operations

Your policy must not exclude or materially restrict a service you are approved to perform.

2. Additional-Insured and Policy-Endorsement Requirements

Your Commercial General Liability policy must include Local Landscaping Partners, LLC as an additional insured for:

  • Ongoing operations
  • Products and completed operations

Coverage provided to LLP must be primary and noncontributory to LLP’s insurance, to the extent permitted by law.

Waivers of subrogation may also be required under applicable General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Employers’ Liability, Automobile Liability, and umbrella or excess policies.

These protections must be contained in the actual policies or endorsements.

A Certificate of Insurance by itself does not create additional-insured status, primary and noncontributory coverage, or a waiver of subrogation.

3. Automobile Liability Insurance

Every vehicle used in connection with LLP work must be insured under a policy that permits its actual business use.

Minimum limit:

  • $1,000,000 combined single limit per accident

Coverage must include, as applicable:

  • Owned autos
  • Scheduled autos
  • Hired autos
  • Non-owned autos

This includes vehicles used to transport workers, equipment, materials, chemicals, trailers, or debris.

If your business uses personal, employee-owned, rented, or borrowed vehicles, the policy must provide the appropriate hired and non-owned auto coverage.

4. Workers’ Compensation and Crew Requirements

Providers are responsible for properly classifying and insuring every person who performs or assists with LLP work.

This includes:

  • Employees
  • Crew members
  • Helpers
  • Temporary workers
  • Leased workers
  • Day laborers
  • Approved subcontractors
  • Other personnel acting on the provider’s behalf

Using a 1099 form does not, by itself, determine whether someone is properly classified or insured.

LLP may require workers’ compensation whenever anyone other than an approved exempt owner-operator performs or assists with an Order.

A provider may not use an uninsured helper, worker, crew member, or secondary contractor on an LLP Order.

Owner-Operators With No Workers

A provider who works entirely alone may request approval as an exempt owner-operator.

LLP may request:

  • State exemption or owner-exclusion documentation
  • Confirmation that no other person will perform or assist with LLP work
  • Occupational accident coverage
  • Other documentation required for the applicable state or service

The owner-operator exception ends if another person begins performing or assisting with LLP work.

  • Waiver-of-subrogation endorsements
  • Commercial or business automobile coverage
  • Workers’ compensation and employers’ liability evidence

Certificate Holder Information

The Certificate of Insurance should list:

Local Landscaping Partners, LLC
1120 Bay Area Blvd.,
Houston, TX 77058

Email insurance documents to:

[email protected]

- Current certificates of insurance for CGL,
- Auto, and Workers’ Comp
(or Occupational Accident if eligible),
- Renewal certificates before expiration to avoid pauses.

(Endorsement names, additional insured wording, and certificate holder details are specified in the Provider Agreement.)

Being listed as the certificate holder is not the same as being an additional insured. Additional-insured protection must be included in the actual policy or endorsement.

Subcontractors and Additional Workers

A provider may use its own properly classified and insured employees and crew members.

A provider may not assign or subcontract an LLP Order to a separate person or business without LLP’s prior written approval.

Each approved subcontractor must:

  • Be an independently established business
  • Be legally qualified and licensed for the work
  • Maintain insurance appropriate for the services
  • Provide separate proof of insurance before beginning work
  • Comply with the applicable Provider Insurance Standards

The primary provider remains responsible for the acts, omissions, workmanship, safety, insurance, and legal compliance of every approved subcontractor.

A subcontractor is not considered insured merely because its name appears on another company’s Certificate of Insurance.

Renewals and Changes

Insurance must remain continuously active while the provider accepts or performs LLP Orders.

Providers must immediately notify LLP of:

  • Cancellation
  • Nonrenewal
  • Lapse
  • Reduction of limits
  • Material coverage restrictions
  • Change in business name
  • Change in covered services
  • Change in workforce
  • Change in owner-exemption status
  • Change in vehicles
  • Change in subcontracting arrangements

Renewal documents should be submitted before the current policy expires

Lapses & Non-Compliance

Expired, insufficient, inaccurate, or unverifiable insurance may result in:

  • Immediate account pause
  • Loss of access to new Orders
  • Reassignment of unperformed Orders
  • Removal of approved service categories
  • A reasonable reserve relating to an uninsured exposure
  • Reimbursement or setoff for an uninsured or inadequately insured loss
  • Termination of provider status

Providers may not accept or perform an Order while required coverage is inactive or materially deficient.

LLP’s review or acceptance of an insurance document does not create coverage, waive the provider’s obligations, guarantee that a policy will respond to a claim, or limit the provider’s responsibility for its services, personnel, vehicles, or subcontractors.
